Delfrez rings in Onam festivities with its innovative activation at Trivandrum Airport

The brand weaved together a unique gifting experience and surprised passengers travelling from Bangalore and Kochin to Trivandrum on the 7th of September with special gift hampers.


Airports are breathing new life into one of the oldest traditional media in marketing, OOH or out-of-home advertising. All over the world, advertisers are experimenting with technologies to have more meaningful exchanges with a mobile and connected population, constantly on the go. The airport is one of the most premium outdoor locations, the gateway to nations and cultures.

As Kerala sets to embrace Onam - its biggest annual festival, Delfrez wanted to wish its discerning customers on Onam uniquely. By giving pleasant surprise through a gift hamper created for the occasion. Therefore, a one-day activity was conducted at Trivandrum Airport on 7th of September.

Passengers travelling from Bangalore and Kochin to Trivandrum on the 7th of September received surprise gift hampers from the brand on their designated luggage belts. An announcement was made directing flyers to the belt requesting them to pick up the Delfrez boxes from the conveyor belt. A photo-op section rounded off the activity.

Each surprise hamper includes a pen, greeting card (thank you note from the brand), hand-crafted Nettpattam, Banana Chips, Sarkara varatti, key chain, and fridge magnet. All these items were put in a specially designed box for Onam. The idea was to surprise the flyers while waiting for their luggage at the conveyor belt. All permissions were procured directly from the Airports Authority of India.

We used a conveyor belt to deliver the specially designed Delfrez boxes (for Onam) for each passenger who boarded the designated flights."
