To
keep up with the creative cutting edge competition,
3D graphics
have taken the outdoor advertising
industry by storm. Their usage has become
common these days on vehicles, windows,
floors etc. It is an innovative and effective
way of reaching consumers wherever they
go. Be it in stores, on streets, inside
buildings, anywhere, consumers are attracted
by the images that almost appear real. They
are widely used by advertisers to reach
out to consumers. 3D graphics can be used
on floors, windows, tables, vehicles, buildings
and billboards.
3-dimensional or depth appearance is
possible using the Lenticular technology.
A lenticular film
makes the images change
shape, move and appear alive leave the
audience startled. Lenticular images do
not require any special equipment to use.
It consists of a number of graphic elements
contained in the original image that are
separated and put on different layers,
to produce the illusion of depth in a
2-dimensional image. The viewer sees part
of the image float over the lens by 1/2
a foot, and sees in to the graphic almost
a foot deep! These startling effects can
be applied on all image sizes –
from credit card size campaigns, where
the product effect occurs when it is moved,
to large posters, where the viewer is
moving. Effect types - Flip, Animation,
Zoom, Morph, True 3D, Digital 3D, layered
3D & Combined effects. When placed
on buildings, billboards or vehicles,
their visibility increases more due to
the huge size, making them visible from
far off distance as well. When used on
floors and windows of shopping stores,
they are able to influence and even change
the purchasing decisions of the consumers.
Consumers may either make their purchase
decisions inside the stores or change
it after seeing the ads there.
3D graphics on vehicles serve as moving
ads. They attract and educate the people
as the vehicle moves through the streets
thereby leaving the passer bys stunned.
